Beat 'Bumping' with this new patented cylinder

'Bumping' is a simple method of releasing a lock with minimal effort, using readily available tools and leaving no visible sign of attack. The new patented GeGe RAM (Resistance Against Manipulation) cylinder incorporates special pins and configurations which successfully resist bumping. A comprehensive range of sizes, including thumb turn locks is available from Carl F. To comply with PAS24 and Secured by Design, the door will also need other components which perform to the highest standards under the strict test regime.

PAS24 and Secured by Design licence holders will, we are led to believe, be obliged to use a Kitemark cylinder. Social housing specifiers are already demanding anti-bump cylinders. Local authorities will want to protect themselves and their tenants. The Kitemark will guarantee access to this market. It remains to be seen how the private householder will react.
